The Opening Ceremony of Reykjavík Pride 2026 will take place on Tuesday, 4 August at 12:00. Join us as we kick off one of the year's most colourful and joyful festival weeks, featuring a diverse programme celebrating the rights, culture, and visibility of LGBTQ+ people.
Björg Magnúsdóttir, President of the Reykjavík City Council, will deliver a welcome address, and Helga Haraldsdóttir, Chair of Reykjavík Pride, will officially open the festival.
Guests are invited to take part in arts and crafts activities and write colourful messages in sidewalk chalk outside the Pride Centre. We also encourage everyone to stop by the Pride Centre (IÐNÓ) and visit the most colourful shop in the country located on the second floor.
All are welcome!
The event will take place outside the Pride Centre (Iðnó).
